I had been wanting to get
out and paint a winter nocturnal scene during the full
moon. I was tracking the moon's movement, and the eery
greenish glow on fairly fresh snow had me convinced of the
night to paint this.
Unfortunately, it meant
not going out to paint until about 3am...and it was minus
eight degrees. After about 1-1/2 hours of painting, I
could hardly feel my toes, and I knew it was time to wrap it
up.
To paint...I clipped
cateye halogen lights to my hat's visor and had to hold my
breath looking down the road or the light would glare
everything up and I would not be able to see.
Made for a very
interesting paint session! I love the results however,
and hope you can appreciate what it took to make it!
