The next day's session would have a different twist, and one that I had not attempted before.  I really felt that the ministry would go the direction of emphasizing that what had once been destroyed or meant for destruction can with God be turned around for good.  In addition, I know that many are crippled in believing in their own potential as concerns stirring up gifts; doing great exploits, etc., which all require believing that I "can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and that whatever is done, we do "to the glory of God."

Therefore, I decided I would redeem this destroyed painting of Jazz.  I would demonstrate courage to attempt before all what I had never done before as a means to encourage others to likewise engage in this wonderful life we've been given to do great exploits.  Knowing I could not risk losing the attention of so vast a crowd, I would save the last 20 minutes of my sharing to paint.  I would dip my hands in various gallon cans of colored paint, wipe...smear, and even throw to arrive at a finished image.  I chose to do a picture of our curly hair golden retriever as a pup for which we were blessed with after Jazz's death.  To prepare myself for something of this monumental nature, I did a quick 16" x 12" acrylic on panel that you see above.  I left it loose and bold in application to mimic what my hands would be limited to.

My near 40 minutes leading up to this exercise was filled with motivational thoughts beginning with healing to then taking action.  Stories I have used often that build a case for not giving up, for possessing courage, and are guaranteed always to bring a few laughs as well.  Then...a good brother from Life Promotions put in my most recent blues CD "Simple Things" which included a song called, "Doggone Blues" featuring the actual singing of my retriever, Ashley.  With some music prime up, I proceeded to let the paint fly!

Needless to say, we had some great fun.  I finished the work in roughly 12 minutes...and the crowd was most responsive and appreciative.  The photo of myself and the painting to the left was taken the next day and unfortunately gravity had taken its toll.  The paint had dripped on the surface while drying, though many like it with its somewhat Jackson Pollack appearance.

When the session had ended, many people came forward to share their appreciation for receiving a new sense of encouragement; to get themselves off the sidelines of life and challenge themselves to stir up giftings and see where their potentials might bring them.

Some had shared how they had allowed self-doubts and negativity dominate who and what they had become, with determination to seek God in becoming all that He would empower them to be.  I can't say enough about what a privilege it was to be used in this capacity.  Thank you Jesus!
